Payroll
We don't run payroll or pay your people. We get your hours ready, then hand them over. Under Integrations, choose your pay period, check the hours and download the file for your provider:
| Provider | What's in the file | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Gusto | Regular and overtime hours per person | File available now |
| ADP | File number, regular hours, overtime, PTO in the right columns | File available now |
| QuickBooks | Hours per person | File available now |
| Paychex | Worker ID and hours | File available now |
| Square | Hours per person | File available now |
| Anything else | A plain spreadsheet | File available now |
Set each person's ID for your provider once, from the table. It's remembered after that. The first time you use a file, check the column names against the import template in your payroll account, because providers change their templates from time to time.
Only approved hours are included by default. Paid time off that's been approved is included in the files.
What about a direct connection to Gusto? We've built one that fills in a draft payroll in Gusto for you to review and submit. It's waiting on Gusto's production approval, so we aren't offering it to customers yet. Until then, the Gusto file does the same job with one extra step.
Bringing your team in
Upload a CSV under Users. An export from Connecteam, Homebase, When I Work, 7shifts or Gusto works, or you can use your own list. We recognize columns from their headers, including first name, last name, email, phone, position, location and start date.
You'll see a preview before anything's saved: new people, people already here and any stores that weren't found. Everyone comes in as an employee, and no one gets a PIN until they create one.
Public API
On Expert plans, you can use our API at /api/v1 with API keys or OAuth tokens, scoped by area and with plan-based rate limits. It's for things like syncing people with another system or pulling hours into your own reports. Documentation is at /api/v1/docs on your company's address.
Your data, any time
The owner can export all of the company's data from Settings, then Company. Forms and timesheets can also be downloaded as spreadsheets as you go, which covers most of what people ask for, like records for an accountant or an insurer.
What's not connected yet
So you know up front:
- Point of sale. We don't pull sales from a register. You type in projected or actual sales, or let the forecast use your past four weeks.
- Accounting beyond hours. QuickBooks gets hours through a file. We don't send invoices or expenses.
- Booking systems. Hotels and salons type occupancy or bookings in by hand.
- Sign-in with Google or Microsoft. It's built, but it's not switched on yet. Today, people sign in with an email code, or a phone number and PIN.
If something you rely on isn't here, tell us using the form below. It's how we decide what to build next.
What it costs
Payroll files are included on every plan, even Free. The API comes with Expert, at $49.50 per hub per month billed yearly.
